1. Add source (Graphic Drivers PPA)

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa
sudo apt update

*Note:

  1. The driver version contained in the PPA source can be viewed through [Launchpad]
  2. How to delete ppa source in ubuntu:

cd /etc/apt/sources.list.d
ls
sudo rm XXXX.list
sudo rm XXXX.list.save

2. Check the driver

ubuntu-drivers devices

The contents of the terminal are as follows:

== /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:01.0/0000:01:00.0 ==
vendor : NVIDIA Corporation
modalias : pci:v000010DEd00001F11sv000017AAsd00003FFDbc03sc00i00
driver : xserver-xorg-video-nouveau - distro free builtin
driver : nvidia-418 - third-party free
driver : nvidia-430 - third-party free

3. Installation

sudo ubuntu-drivers autoinstall
sudo apt-get install nvidia-430

4. Restart the installation successfully!

Note: There is no nouveau driver that can be disabled in this installation. If the installation fails, you can try to disable the nouveau driver first.
Methods as below:

  1. Add the conf file:

cat /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-new.conf
blacklist new
options new modeset=0

  1. Regenerate the kernel initramfs:

sudo update-initramfs -u

  1. Reboot:

sudo reboot

Note: In the third step of apt-get installation, the download speed is so slow that it crashes.
